SERVICE LETTER

NUMBER CSL 2016-1

DATE 2/24/16

TO: Century Flight Systems Dealers

SUBJECT: Century 41 Pitch and Trim Servo Directions

The following information is provided as an aid in trouble shooting a Century 41 autopilot system when the Torque Sensing Pitch Servo 1C812 – ( ) or 1C822 – ( ) is replaced by a newer Century Servo 1C784 – ( ) or 1C785 – ( ) and a corresponding Servo Adapter unit 1C950-( ).

  1. If the Pitch Servo is running backwards swap pins 3 & 6 at CD 204 connector of the servo.
  2. If autotrim is running backwards and you are getting a “FAIL AUTOTRIM” on the annunciator, swap pins 7 & 2 at CD 184 at the Flight Computer and then swap pins 3 & 6 of CD 204 on the Pitch Servo.
  3. If autotrim is running backwards and you are not getting a “FAIL AUTOTRIM” on the annunciator, swap pins 3 & 6 at the Trim Servo connector. This will cause manual electric trim to run backwards so swap pins 37 & 39 on CD 184 at the Flight Computer.
  4. If the Pitch Servo is running the correct direction but you get a “FAIL AUTOTRIM” on the annunciator, swap pins 3 & 6 on CD 183 that connects to the 1C950-( ) Servo Adapter. When this is done, it will cause pitch to run backwards so swap pins 3 & 6 at the CD 204 connector on the Pitch Servo.

CENTURY FLIGHT SYSTEMS PRESS RELEASE #2/13

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mineral Wells, TX – April 10, 2013 – Century Flight Systems, a leading provider of autopilots for General Aviation aircraft, and manufacturer of autopilots since 1983, recently announced they have received Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the installation of their Century 4000 Autopilot in Piper PA-28-140 Cherokee Cruiser, PA-28-180 Cherokee aircraft, and the PA-32-301, -301T, PA-32R-301 and -301T Saratoga aircraft.

Century Flight Systems also recently announced the award of Century 4000 Autopilot STCs for most variants of the Cessna 182 Skylane aircraft and the Cessna 421B and 421C Golden Eagle.

“The Cherokee aircraft has been in existence since 1960, and the Saratoga since 1980, and are in use throughout the world.  There are significant improvements to be gained by updating older aircraft with modern instrumentation and flight control systems, and Century Flight Systems is working closely to bringing increased safety- and performance-enhancing technology to more and more aircraft.  Aircraft owners investing in the C4000 will be able to reduce their cross country fatigue and enable accurate airport approaches while also making their flying safer, more relaxing and enjoyable” said Bill Eubanks, Century Flight Systems’ President.

The C4000 uses advanced digital & analog circuitry to process position + rate data to produce the most accurate and comfortable flight dynamics available in rough or smooth air. This along with the fact that position + rate autopilot do not need to disengage in turbulent air makes for an autopilot that is safer and more convenient to fly. Standard features includes GPS/VOR/LOC/LOC REV coupling, fully automatic glideslope coupling from above or below, selected angle intercept capability when using an HSI (45 degree intercepts using a DG), altitude hold, voice prompter, attitude hold command, auto-trim or trim prompting.

Pricing for the C4000 autopilot starts at $19,995.00 plus installation.  The pricing assumes the aircraft has compatible Century Flight Systems autopilot flight instruments installed.  Autopilots, and compatible flight instruments, are available upon order.
