Century 41 Autopilot

The Century 41 is the advanced digital logic design roll/heading/pitch autopilot with built in VOR/LOC/GS couplers and outputs to drive a single-que, V-Bar flight director system. The basic system consists of the mode programmer, system annunciator, directional and attitude gyros and servos.

Century 41 Autopilot

The Century 41 is a proven concept in autopilot design. Unlike competitive autopilots which are either rate- or position-based, the Century 41 uses both for more precise control and a smoother ride. Other features designed to reduce pilot work-load and fatigue include precisely synchronized pitch attitude and altitude hold modes, a pitch modifier, automatic and manual electric trim, and automated preflight testing. Anticipative VOR/LOC/GS capture automatically compensates for ground speed, intercept angle, wind direction, and distance from the station. "Automatic gain reducing soft enroute VOR tracking" means perfectly mannered station passage.

When using the go-around mode in dealer installed systems, the pilot has only to press the go-around button, clean up the airplane and add go-around power. The autopilot flies to a calibrated pitch up attitude that is set for the single engine safety speed of the airplane and heads to the pilot preset go-around heading.

The Century 41's front panel flight adjustments and custom manufactured cable harness reduce installation and maintenance time and expense.

Options: The NSD slaved or non-slaved HSI system or other compatible HSIs may be substituted for the directional gyro. Altitude Preselect is also available.

Yaw Damper

With passenger comfort its primary function, the Century Yaw Damper is an independent subsystem compatible with any autopilot system. It enhances directional stability by eliminating short-term yaw oscillations. It assures exact coordination in all turns and maneuvers through the use of an exclusive rate gyro and electrolytic potentiometer (skid sensor), thus reducing pilot workload. These composite signals are tuned to the natural yaw frequency of each aircraft model for maximum performance.

Yaw Damper with Switch

Century Flight Systems offers several different models of Yaw Damper systems. These yaw dampers are considered stand-alone systems unless they are approved as part of the autopilot system. Some of the yaw damper systems have the capability to be inter-connected to the autopilot systems to provide full three axis control when the autopilot is engaged and disengagement of the yaw damper when the autopilot master disconnect is used.

The Century 41 autopilot system and the 1C753-100 and 200 series yaw computer can be interconnected to allow the engagement of the yaw damper when the Century 41 autopilot is engaged. Disengagement of the autopilot through the use of the ON-OFF button on the autopilot programmer or activation of the electric trim switch will not disengage the yaw damper. The yaw damper can only be deactivated by use of the AP Disconnect/Trim Interrupt switch on the control wheel or by depressing the ON-OFF switch on the Yaw Controller. The 1C753-( ) or the 1C651-( ) yaw damper systems can be used with the Century 41 autopilot system, but cannot be interconnected for the single action of engage or disengagement. These yaw damper systems have a panel mounted ON-OFF switch that must be activated.

The Century 2000 autopilot system is essentially just like the Century 41 autopilot as far as the yaw damper system is concerned with one difference. The Century 2000 does not use the yaw damper controller in the 1C753-100 & 200 series. The Century 2000 has the capability to annunciate yaw damper engagement, adjust yaw damper centering and provide an ON-OFF switch. The 1C753-( ) or the 1C651-( ) yaw damper system can also be used with the Century 2000 but cannot be interconnected for engagement or disengagement.

For today's high performance aircraft, it is that final touch of refinement required by conscientious pilots.

GPS Roll Steering

Century's GPS Roll Steering ModulesCentury's GPS roll steering module makes flying with your GPS and autopilot easier than ever. GPS roll steering lets you program a complete flight plan into your GPS; and then with the push of a button the autopilot follows your flight plan turn by turn. It even anticipates the turn based on your ground speed and distance to the waypoint.

Once activated all you need to do is moniter the aircraft and leave the navigation to your Century GPSS. By reducing your navigation workload you are able to greatly improve your situational awareness and safety in both VFR and IFR conditions.

Compatibility:

C21, C31, C41, C2000 and Triden Autopilots

Annunciation comes in Horizontal or Vertical mounting configurations.

Century GPSS is compatible with any GPS supplying Arinc label 121 out, either 14 or 28 volt aircraft. (High or Low speed.)
